Q. What
Results Should I Expect?
A
. The overwhelming majority of our
SpaWhite™ clients will see a pleasing
immediate
smile
rejuvenation! Teeth whitening is subtly
affected by numerous personal
conditions, including body
chemistry, genetics, mineral imbalances,
drug use, and dental health. Not
everyone will have the same
results. Just as with other services, no
one size fits all, and not everyone
reacts the same way.
Q. How
light can my teeth get with SpaWhite™?
A.
Typically, a SpaWhite™ Express
treatment (1‐15 minute session) will
achieve a 2‐4 shade
improvement. SpaWhite Silver (2‐15
minute sessions) will achieve a 3‐7
shade increase. The color of
one’s permanent teeth is set by
genetics. Your natural childhood teeth
color is as light as they can ever
be without cosmetic dentistry
replacement. Various people have
different skin tones, they also have
different natural tooth shades.
Q. What
is the difference between SpaWhite™ and
Zoom™ / BriteSmile™?
A.
The SpaWhite™ treatment is done
Stop Smoking Laser Solutions! The entire
SpaWhite™ Silver
treatment lasts only ½ hour as opposed
to sitting in the dentist office for
approximately 1 ½ hours.
SpaWhite™ Silver costs about half as
much as a Zoom treatment and our easy to
use award winning
maintenance stick (WhiteIce™) is
included at no additional charge.
Additionally, you will most likely
experience much
less teeth sensitivity during
the SpaWhite™ treatment.
Q. I've
heard that teeth whitening hurts, will
this cause my teeth to be sensitive?
A.
Although every person is
unique, SpaWhite™ causes less
sensitivity than any other leading teeth
whitening systems because of two
important factors.
- Our
whitening gel is only on your teeth
for two 15 minute cycles, while the
other leading
systems leave the bleach on your
teeth for three to four 20 minute
cycles. Less than half of the
contact time with your teeth means
less sensitivity.
- Our
Daylight5K is a cool LED light which
is much gentler on your gum tissue.
This is not
true for many of the other leading
systems which use UV light. If,
however, you do experience any
sensitivity post treatment, you may
take Ibuprofen or Tylenol.
Q. Will
my artificial dental structures whiten
with SpaWhite™?
A.
Crowns, bridges, composite
fillings all have permanent color which
is set by the dentist when he/she
performs the restoration. Teeth
whitening will not change the color of
these structures; that must be
done via dental replacement.
Q. Do
all teeth whiten at the same rate?
A.
Dentistry of the enamel,
general as well as oral health, drug use
(past and present) body chemistry,
diet, and hereditary all play a part in
how well teeth respond to whitening.
Most teeth respond well,
some respond extremely well, while
others are less responsive. All natural
teeth do respond to some
degree.
Q. Will
a SpaWhite ™ treatment harm my enamel?
A. No it will not.
Peroxide based whiteners have been used
and studied extensively in the dental
field to
bleach teeth.
Q. Will
I experience any gum irritation?
A.
Depending on many factors, you
may experience some minor gum
irritation. This is normal and
usually goes away in less than an hour
after treatment. If you experience
discomfort during the
procedure, a good remedy is to apply a
small amount of petroleum jelly using a
Q‐tip to the gums, then
reapply the mouthpiece. If irritation
exists after the treatment, vitamin E
oil can be applied to the
affected area. An easy way to do this is
to puncture the end of a vitamin E gel
cap with a pin, then
squeeze a small amount of oil on the
gums, letting it flow down to cover. You
may want to even out the
oil application with a cotton swab.
Q.
Should I brush my teeth prior to my
SpaWhite™ treatment?
A
. No. Brushing your teeth prior to the
SpaWhite treatment may make your gums
more sensitive so we
recommend that you use our teeth wipes
to remove any film on your teeth.
Q. What
should I avoid after my treatment?
A.
Your teeth are very prone to
re‐staining in the first 48 hours post
treatment. Therefore, we
recommend that you avoid the following
products for two days after your teeth
have been whitened:
- Tobacco
products
- Coffee or
tea
- Colas
- Red wine
- Red meat
- Soy sauce
- Berries or
other dark fruits
- Tomatoes
and tomato sauces
- Dark
vegetables
- Foods
containing dyes or artificial
colorings
Q. Can
I have my teeth whitened if I am
pregnant?
A
. Sorry, we cannot whiten your teeth if
you are pregnant or nursing.
Q. How
long can I expect my results to last?
A.
There is no definite answer to
how long your whitening results will
last. This is highly dependent on
many individual factors including the
current condition and age of your teeth,
diet, alcohol and tobacco
consumption. As a guideline you can
expect to repeat the SpaWhite™ treatment
every 6‐12 months and
continue to use your WhiteIce™ on a
regular basis.
Getting
teeth white is one thing. Keeping them
white is quite another!
